Misrepresentation in Property Transactions

In this video interview, Saul Marine goes over the latest updates in regards to Property Law and possession of your rental property.

There have been some exciting developments in Parliament in particular the Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Bill which was introduced in the House of Lords of the 12th of May 2021 The Bill fulfils the commitment to set future ground rents to zero.

Additionally, the government have indicated that further legislation will be passed through Parliament which will reform the process of enfranchisement and give leaseholders of flats and houses the same right to extend the lease agreements as often as they want for zero ground rent for a term of 990 years.

In future ground rent would be capped at 0.1% of the freehold value at prescribed rates which will simplify and standardise the whole process of enfranchisement i.e., obtaining the freehold of the property.

On the litigation front, we have issued a new video which sets out the new rules for obtaining possession under the Covid Rules from 1st of July 2021 up to the 30th of September 2021.

I hope you enjoy the video and that it does supply you with interesting information.
